Memories of facts , records,findings and timings are the mother of history. Our beloved co-educational school first sparked the light of learning in the year 1948 on the very date of 8th January as Vikrampur Madhya Enraji Vidyalaya with the help of kind and co-operative education interested persons at Vikrampur village and some heartiest donations of land lords. Next the name of the school was converted as per the appeal of the local people into Sri Sri Gopinath Jiu Vikrampur Union High School. The change again came respectively in the selection of name of the school in 1949 and 1950. The name of the school became Madhya Enraji School and Dhanara Vikrampur Union Uchcha Vidyalaya respectively.
In that period some of the heartiest education interested persons of the two villages -- Dhanara and Vikrampur(now under Khatra Sub-division), Bankura unitedly came forward under the inspiration and guide of Late Bijoy Basanta Mandal to set up a recognised school. Late B.B Mandal, with his mission and vision , heartily spent his time, energy and toil in the Education Department of Writers'Building and prayed and urged for grant and recognition. His ardent appeal touched the heart of Shyamprasad Mukherjee, an academician, Indian politician, a barrister,Minister and the Vice Chancellor of The University of Calcutta. He approved the grant and recognised the school as a High School ----Dhanara Vikrampur Union Shyamaprasad Memorial High School----w.e.f 01.01.1953(WBBS Edu's Memo No. 19256 dt. 30.12.1952).
Late Bijoy Basanta Mandal was the first Headmaster and Founder Member of this institution.
The school has been enjoying the First Grant-in- Aid from 01.03.1954 vide WBBS Edu's Memo No.14/91(iii)--537 dt.05.08.1955.
The school came under salary Deficit Scheme w.e.f 01.05.1972.
The institution was in full swing of spreading the light of learning in Secondary and Higher Secondary Sections (Arts and Science Streams)
under the active and dedicated headmastership of Late B.B.Mandal.
But in course of time the teaching system in the H.S Section was out of order for some reasons. The Science Laboratory now becomes an isolated damaged building. The former Headmasters Hon'ble Debiprasad Sengupta and Ajit Das tried their best to continue the Arts and Science Streams in HS section but with no result.
Next Late Partha Pratim Roy, the beloved and honorable Headmaster heartily moved the case and WBCHSE recognised as 10+2 class H.S School w.e.f 2011--2012 academic session under Memo No.DS(A) SD/0075/Recog./12 dt.20.03.2012 and sanctioned only ARTS STREAM.
In our institution Bengali and Santali Mediums go side by side under the same campus and roof from class V to XII under the active teachings of teachers (21) and para-teachers(04) in Bengali Medium and only five para- teachers in Alchiki Medium Sections.*

and Memo No. 24(16)L.S/Bankura dated 22.02.2012 for admission of Santali students respectively.Next under Memo No. 2928/S dated 13/10/2015 from the office of D.Iof Schools (S.E), Bankura and Memo No.II/29/173(9)/SSM dated 09.02.2016 a permission letter was issued for starting Santali Medium(Alchiki Script) in class IX .The educational flow gies on. In the academic session 2018-19 the permission was given for introduction of admissible subjects in Santali Medium(Alchiki Script) under Memo No.OSD/ACA/294/2018 dated 24.04.2018 from WBCHSE.
In 2017 the institution has been converted into the Government Sponsored School vide Notification No. 11443/RMSA/SL/5S-264/12,dated 30.09.2013 and videMemo No.939-BAN-342/SE/S/10M-108/14 dated 23.02.2017 and formed the body of the Government Sponsored Managing Committee under the Presidentship of Hon'ble Prabir Kumar Das(Retired Teacher) as per instructions of the Joint Secretary to the Govt. of W.B.
The existing Headmaster Hon'ble Debashis Mukhopadhyay, with his best and dedicated efforts, tries to uplift the standard of education, to create a joyful and friendly educational atmosphere and to open Science Stream and Philosophy , Subjects in Arts Stream in HS Section.
The School Authority is always ready to co-operate in all steps in terms of betterment of school.
