Mugkalyan High School was founded by Srinath Ghoshal, a local landlord with a view to spreading education among the young generations. The date of foundation is not known but foundation year of the Institution is 1866 as per school documents founded in school custody. Since the inception the school has been bringing up millions of students with care, guidance and proper education. For more than four decades the school was housed in mud-built rooms. In 1914 Adi-Bhavan was built in 1961 Vignan-Bhavan, in 1966 Satabdi-Bhavan, in 2004 Student’s Hall. More buildings have been built to meet the growing demands. A great number of students are well-placed in different stations of life. Among them Prof. Amalendu Bandyopadhyay, an astronomer, Purnendu Patri, a writer and a Bengali film-maker, are renowned in India and abroad. Mugkalyan High School play a great roll for freedom for India .The school can take pride in man-making mission for long 150 years of glorious achievements.
At present school have nearly 1600 students with Higher Secondary Section and Vocational section. Higher Secondary Section has three streams with 21 subjects affiliated by Higher Secondary council.Location of School
