Our school was established during 1954 and started its academic functioning from 6.12.1954. I had taken over the charge of this school as a T.I.C. in the beginning of the year 2014. At that time the roll strength of this school was 76. At present the roll strength is 162. There are six teachers in our school now. We are celebrating all the memorable days in our school as per the schedule made by the DPSC North 24 Parganas. Along with these activities we are publishing a school magazine every year named “Rang Berang “ since 2013. This magazine contains with the stories, poems, drawings etc. of our little learners, ex-students, and guardians also. This magazine was inaugurated by renowned nobel laureate Prof. Dr. Amartya Sen on the occasion of the annual workshop of ‘Pratichi India Trust’ in Bolepur.
As a part of joyful learning our little learners are also participating in various competitions like drawing, recitation, story telling , drama etc. in and outside of the school. Our little learners are participating in annual sports meet also in the anchal, circle and subdivision level successfullyon regular basis.
Our school was participating in ‘Shishu Mela’ , organised by the teachers of Swarupnagar and Swarupnagar North Circle in the year 2014 .
In the year 2018 selected students of our school participated in ‘Bhasa Utsav’ organised by ‘Shiksha Alochona’ ( A Primary Teachers Forum, working for the development of elementary education in West Bengal.) . Their stories were published in a book named ‘Ganga Faring’ in Kolkata Book Fair 2018. Some of our little learners were participating on that occasion in Kolkata Book fair ground.
A Child Cooperative is also being successfully run by the students of class III and IV of our school. Willing students of those classes are depositing money at their will regularly. Each student has a sheet separately containing account of their own to maintain these records. A cheap store is also being maintained by the students. All the members of this cooperative are eligible to take items like pen, pencil, khata, eraser etc. as per their own requirements. Prices of these items are being deducted from their individual accounts. At the end of the year the balance amount of each student would be refunded to them. This total process is being operated by the ‘Samabaya Mantri’ and the ‘Prime Minister’ of the Child Cabinet of our school.
Thus we are trying to develop the learning system of our school with our combined and extreme efforts to make the betterment of our society.
