Awarness Programme on “Stop using Plastic bags”

Awareness programme on “Stop using Plastic bags” held at our School Campus. The programme was initiated by a stimulated speech by the Headmaster. He enlighted the students about that one of the biggest menaces of this modern age that is plastic. How we live in the age of ‘use and throw’. He also mentioned as it is easy and inexpensive to manufacture and offers versatile use, plastic is used almost everywhere. He also added how plastic is making a huge amount of waste. Landfills, oceans, mountains and valleys have become garbage dumps with overwhelming amounts of plastic. He emphasized on how does it’s slowly damaging our eco-system and the environment around us as Plastic takes over 1000 years to disintegrate and decompose completely. Besides, it releases harmful chemicals, which seep into water and soil. Gradually, it is ending up in oceans and landfills, endangering several species.  Students took initiatives to make the school plastic free campus and also determined to use alternatives of plastic bag. So our programme ended with a dream that not only Gandhi Seva Sangha B.M. Vidyalaya but the entire World will one day become plastic free globe.
