1-9-1-9 , how nice is the combination of the numbers! There is a special tune , a rhythm, and probably a mystry in it.The year is the official establishment year of the school. Swamiji had set-off his journey throughout the country on barefoot to look for the spirit of the nation. He tried to find that very spirit among the downtroddens in the remote corners of the country. A deserted room with the roof made of 'Golpata'. The land was donated by Anandamohan Dey probably in the year 1875(?). A great soul emerged among the twittering of birds, the purling of the rivulet 'Kausiki'. He was none but Biswambhar Mukherjee, a sage like figure whose solemn steps are still felt in each of the bricks of the Institution. At that time that very great soul felt the need of imparting education even at such a romote village. 1880 - Krishnahari Mukherjee , the first successful student in Middle English Examination,Haralal Ghosh, the first Middle English scholarship-holder in the year 1926, began the tradition of keeping the flag of the institution atop. The tradition is going on after centuries.
The Institution was upgraded to High School on 1st July 1926 by the University of Calcutta . Within three years of upgradation from Middle English School to High School, there started the work of setting up the Hall Room of the school a little away from the old setting with the making of 50000 bricks at the cost of Rs 500, Yes, at the cost of Rs 500.The building of the Institution finally started to take form in the land donated by Anukul Chandra Ghosh and intestingly enough with the 'Kori's donated by Hemanta Kumar Ghosh. Behind the effort there were contributions of common people at large and obviously the contributions of some noble personalities. The rooms having some loving nick-mames like 'Class ten-er Ghor' donated by Rajendralal Mukherje of Deulpur , ‘Science-Hall' donated by Raibahadur Tinkari Biswas and the rooms with the memories of Pannalal Saha, Sudarshan Paul of Keshabpur, Nabanimohon Ghosh, Shaktisankar Ghosh, Anathbandhu Ghosh of Khasmorah not only bear testimony to their finantial assistance but deep love towards education and the Institution also. Contribution of Nagendranath Ghosh who had offered 'pattas' of a piece of land in the year 1952 can not be forgotten.
The reputation and achievements of the Institution since its formative stage depended on some respected personalities all of whom perhaps we can’t officially represent , but the Institution can not forget the contributions of some old administrators like Samatul Chandra Ghosh , Manindranath Ghosh , Saktisankar Ghosh .
