Mahishmuri High School , established in 1969 by a few education loving folks , like Birendra    Mohan Ray , Tarani Mohan Ray and others with a view to help spreading the light of knowledge and wisdom amongst the helpless villagers - helpless in terms of access to education as , in those days , there was no educational institution in and around 10 kilometre radius, is located at the remotest area, far from the madding crowd, adjacent to India- Bangladesh border of Khalisamari Gram Panchayat - the birth place of the great Roy Saheb Panchanan Barma . This institution started its journey with a very few number of pupils in a mud - bulit tin shed small house starting from classes VI to VIII and then upgraded to High School in 2000 and now it is a 10+2 School since 2013 comprising of nearly 1300 students most of them are second and third generation learners. Now it is a two storey building in the lap of nature having a , very soothing panoromic view. Most of the learners are from Rajbanshi community , very obident and submissive to their Gurus i.e. our respected and dedicated teachers and non - teaching staff .

Our managing committee members are very much helpful and co-operative in terms of management of the school. My heartiest thanks to them. The drop- out rate has come to the ground because of the various Government aids like Midday meal, Sabooj Sathi , Kanyashree and various other scholarships . Our motto is to bring out the best of our beloved students- their all round development i.e. their  physical, mental, emotional and spiritual growth. I express my deepest regards to my teachers, office staff, management committee members, all respectable officials of School Education Department - above all my heart - felt love and affection to my ward- like students .
