Welcome to Gokarna Prasannamoyee High School.

More than a century back, in Gokarna village, a generous Zamindar,keen educationist, named Sri Nilkanta Roy dared to walk in an untraveled path. He had a view to spread the light of education and wanted to  transform the lackluster into a vibrant and throbbing one. He founded a school in the the name of his mother Prasannamoyee in 1905. Taraknath Roychoudhury of Gokarna, a renowned person, was a great patron in this context . Education is the the only tool to uplift the morale of the the whole society and makes a  turnaround. Thus the school came into being and known as Gokarna Prasannamoyee High School. Since then the school withstood many hindrances and held its head high. The school always gives focus in the the sphere of education, cultures and games. It is affiliated to WBBSE and upgraded to HS one in 1985 being potent with Science, Arts and Vocational Course. The School stresses on moral teaching and endeavours to create responsible citizen. The  school takes pride in holistic and innovative learning which helps the students raise the bar in the fields of education. Our dream is of becoming an adorable one and achieving excellence in activities. I feel a great joy and success that the bondage among the teachers, students and guardians is healthy. The school is a temple of education and all the teaching ,non teaching staff and administration have been carrying on to set up a healthy atmosphere in our school. A seed which was planted in the village have now grown and flourished to a huge tree and it is still growing.
