A very warm welcome from the desk of the headmistress to the site of the oldest educational institution for girls in the district of Birbhum in West Bengal. Established in 1884, the then Suri River Thompson Girls' School by the state Gvernment in 2006 in keeping with the motive of eradication of colonial memory from this prestigious institution in free India.

Conviniently situated at the heart of the district headquarter town Suri near the head post office, and well connected by bus with the various parts of the district, this is a State Government sponsored non residential Higher Secondary school for girls.

Associated with such eminent personalities like Sir Gurusaday Dutta in the past, it is not only the pioneer in the field of women's education in the district, but also a premiere institute in both curricular and co- curricular activities in a number of fields. this prestigious institution has been honoured numerous times throughout the passage of time for it's excellence in academics, sports, intellectual and cultural activities in districs, state, national as well as international levels, and ex students of the school  are established today throughout the globe in different eminent positions. I, along with my colleagues and my beloved students are all proud to be a part of such unique institution, and take oath to preserve it's rich heritage in the forthcoming years.
