From the Head Of Institution Desk

It is a glorious moment for us that we now have a place on the internet. Our school however was once a small or insignificant but now it has turned into a multi-storeyed building and can be viewed from anywhere on the globe. Thanks to the Education Department for providing us with this golden opportunity.

A school is actually a society in a miniature form and it certainly has an impact on the society. Our school, a very little one, started its journey officially in 1986 but unofficially it began in 1974 as an organized school. It was set up to facilitate the schooling of the poor dropouts in the colony area under Kalyani Municipality where the unsuccessful students had to dropout from schools.

The journey of the school started with only 75  students and 6 teachers in 1986, under a tin shed which proved to be a nice one. The 4-class junior high school was upgraded to a high school in 2001 and it was recognized as Higher Secondary institution in the session 2006-2007. Now we have more than 2000 students. We have 35 teachers including myself and 6 para-teachers. No teaching or non teaching post has yet been sanctioned for science stream of the H.S. section.

Initially the school had only one toilet to be used by boys and the building had 6 rooms in total. Once our non-descript school could not even provide the students with a concrete roof. It just had a tin over the head of the pupils. Today it boasts of having a deemed infrastructure. The previously ridiculed “Garden-school”or “Baganer-school” has now transformed into a form which is humored to be “Palace-like”. Apart from the infrastructure our school has a centralized audio-system for making announcements, roof-top solar system to utilize natural energy source and save fossil fuels, a kitchen-garden from where the fresh vegetables are added to the mid-day meal of the students now and then, a garden with beautiful plants as well as herbal trees with 20 medicinal plants to make the students feel bonded with nature and understand it’s worth. There are even various trees and plants viz mango, litchi, Gulabjamun and some rare trees like Amra, Arjun, Rudrakhsha, Kamranga, Jalpai, Haritaki, Jamrul etc.
