If the wide interpretation is to be taken into consideration, school is the oldest educational institution of the world. When a child is born s/he receives her/his natural education in a natural school ,i.e, Mother's Lap and as s/he grows, she/he receives formal education in formal schools where her/his internal and external behaviours are shaped by the teachers who are considered, cutting across the social, cultural and religious formats, as the second parents of the child.
Momin High School is a premier Urdu medium school of Kolkata which was founded by local philanthropists and was gently nurtured by many activists, academicians, stalwarts and statesmen throughout the ages. It has completed 75 years of its inception in this year, i.e., 2020.
I, as the Headmaster of this school, held its rein in March, 2006 and when I, for the first time, sat on the historic chair of the office where I used to innocently plead my cases as student, the most challenging task before me was to keep the legacy of the school intact. Time will judge how much I succeeded in this daunting task. Feeling no hesitation to admit that during my stewardship, school faced several ups and downs but with the concurrent and sincere views and help of my dedicated and privileged staff I overcame all the obstacles to the satisfaction of my critics. Let me say in this context that I never compromised a bit so far teaching learning is concerned. Results of Board and Council speaks volumes in this regard.
Lastly, I too believe that the destiny of India is being shaped in her class rooms and I am thus discharging my national duty as the main catalyst of the society.
