Being the Head of the Institution of Adi Ballygunge Vidyalaya ( H.S.), I have an overwhelming experience over the years. Ours is a seat of learning where the children of the surrounding insolvent slums come toddling like a bunch of roses pressed together. Their animated presence echo through the concrete corridor of my school. Their innocent laughter is a music to my ears, they modulate my periods. Ours is a small and happy family where the assistant teachers, the clerical staff, the menial workers and I try to deliver our best to our innocent learners in a spirit of togetherness. Here we not only look after the academic enrichment of a young pupil but also ensure a healthy nourishment of some values through the formative years of his or her life. The values which we try to inculcate in them are those we have the deepest conviction in like humanism is the only religion of the modern man and loving our fellow men is the greatest lesson of life. I am proud to announce that one may find us rough but one must find us ready.
