BIJRA F. P. SCHOOL has completed a glorious journey of  74 years, since its foundation in 1946. It is a significant domain in the industrial region of STEEL CITY DURGAPUR and is situated about 3 kms. away from DURGAPUR STEEL TOWNSHIP. Our institution remains committed to its motto of guiding small children and lay a strong foundation which would be beneficial in the future. Our school is geographically situated in a minority based area. Over 85% students belong to the minority group. We have been giving due emphasis on ethics and basics of education to educate our students in such a manner that they can acquire enough resourses and confidence to dream and flourish in future and step out of the boundaries of social discrimination and grinding poverty. Our institution works as an agent of cultural transmission by instilling moral values and beliefs in its students. As for now, we have 214 students and 6 hardworking and dedicated teachers.Our school lays stress on having a modern thinking so we have inculcated computer education in our syllabus of learning and education. Our school also features a separate mid-day-meal room for lunch, sick room and kitchen garden. We also celebrate Republic Day,Independence Day, Teacher's Day, Picnic Day, Children's Day, Book Day, etc. We also organise Free Medical Check Up Camps on regular intervals to monitor on our students' health and well being. There is also a separate yoga class for our students. Our school also lays stress on tree plantation and believes in having a healthy environment and eco-friendly atmosphere around the campus. Our institution also organises Awareness Programmes such as Plastic Refusal and go for rallies in the surrounding areas and spread the message on the same and distribute cloth bags. Our school also has a separate avtivity corner for students as well as monthly wall magazines. Our school also lays stress on skills such as teamwork and leadership skills and there is a special students' cabinet. Recently we introduced Raksha Bandhan by making hand made rakhis and Basantotsab to celebrate the arrival of the beautiful season of spring. We are proud to announce that our school has been awarded Nirmal Vidyalaya Award in 2017. In the following year of 2018, we have been awarded Sishu Mitra Purashkar for the best school in Paschim Bardhaman and felicitated by Samagra Shiksha Mission, Purba Bardhaman in 2019. We discuss before taking any decision. As a unit, we walk together having a strong bond, familiality and homely atmosphere but following discipline. We are proud of each other and of our students who made the school stand where it is now.
