History

Lamahatta Higher Secondary School (Co-education) is situated at Lamahatta in Takdha Glenburn Constituency under Darjeeling Distrct. The School was establisehd in the Year 1964. The local people and the school authorities felt the need of the full fledged High School and came forward to accomplish the goal unitedly. The goal was acheived after putting a tremendous effort and the West Bengal Board of Secondary Ecucation accorded recognition upto Class X in 1st of January 1969. This school was upgraded to Higher Secondary w.e.f. Year 2000.

The School aims at all round development of the child. Top priority is given to character building.After completing the school the students should be characterised by sense of responsibility and true development of mind and character.They should show this by being actively concerned about national development in the true spirit of freedom, equality, justice and peace. They schould feel proud of the Institution and must have a distinguished character.
