AN INTRODUCTION

Griffiths' Higher Secondary School, Takdah, P.O. Takdah, P.S. Rangli/Rangliot, District - Darjeeling 734222 was established in the year 1936 by late P.J. Griffiths, ICS, then D.C. of Darjeeling has a glorious record of educating four generation of local populaces as well as outsiders. The School has met many milestones in Education excellence and other co-curricular activities.

Griffiths H.S. School became champion in District level Sports association organised by Darjeeling District Sports association (DDSA) consecutively for two years in 1983 and 1984 and the march past contingent of the School was adjudged best contingent in Republic day parade in Kolkata in 1994.

The School has a big "Organic vegetable production unit" which was inaugurated by chairman, Gorkhaland territorial administration in 2019. The School use to provide organic vegetable to the students in Mid-day-meal scheme and manage to organised Inter-house competition for production of organic vegetables. The main motto of this competition is to motivate students in agricultural field.

The School was adjudged best School by SSM Cell, Darjeeling and awarded "NIRMAL VIDHYALAYA AWARD" in 2016.

The School was awarded "BEST SCHOOL" by B.D. O. Rangli/Rangliot Block Takdah on the occasion of KANYASHREE DAY in 2019.

The Headmaster of the School Mr. Bhim Pradhan, was awarded “SIKSHA RATNA AWARD” by Govt. of West Bengal in 2019 in recognition of his contribution in Educational excellence, Co-Curricular activities as well as Infrastructure development of the School.

The School authority has a great responsibility of carrying legacy handed over by the former pioneers. So, the present School authority has a vision of making the School exemplary in terms of Infrastructure, educational excellence and co-curricular activities.
