Latpanchor HS School: An Overview

           Around five decades ago (in 1960s) , in a picturesque far-off village of Latpanchor, Kurseong Block, Darjeeling District, a small group of visionary people despite day-to-day struggle for basic needs of all kind, envisoned an educational institution that could cater to all the educational need of the place as they believed that education is the only way to improve the quality of life  and uplift the society. Their unwavering determination and unyielding effort bore fruit when Junior High School was finally established in the year 1965 at the heart of mesmarising Latpanchor.

           This initiation effectively paved the way for the recognition of Two Classes Junior High School on 15th March, 1969.

          As the number of students swelled, an impulse to create Four Classes Junior High School materialised in the year 1982 even though the ever increasing influx of students pose new challenges. 

          The journey that began with the handfull of students and a few dedicated teachers succeeded when the School got recognition from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education on 27th May, 1993.

           The dream of the founding fathers was duely recognized as the School continued its successful journey with the introduction of higher secondary section(Arts) which got recognition from the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education on 25th October, 2011. Further the school has pledged to introduce Commerce classes in Higher Secondary Section by 2020.

           Latpanchor Higher Secondary School now  effectively runs classes from five(V) to twelve (XII) giving every opportunity for the seed of today to become a tree or flower of tomorrow.
