History

 History of the school :

Sukna High School was extablished in the year 1972 which is located on the foothills of Darjeeling at Sukna within Kurseong Sub-Division nearly 28 k.m. from Kurseong town and 12 k.m from Siliguri. Looking in view the miserable condition in the field of Education of the surroundings some esucation interested, dedicated people of the locality like Late B.M. Thapa, Late B.M. Lama, Late Hari Prasad Bhandari, Late Parang Lama, Late Kumar Thapa, Sri S.K. Chettri, Sri B.B.Dewan, Sri D.B. Thapa etc. felt necessary to establish a High School at SUkna and started running a school through public donations since 1972 and was luckily recognized as four Classes Junior High School in the year 1987 and High School in 1993 and Higher Secondary in 2011 with Arts and Commerce. The School building in constructed within 4.9 acres of Land transferred from Mohurgung & Gulma Tea Extate in the year 1999.

The school is running smoothly since its inception with full co-operation from the Education Department DGHC and GTA respectively and active participation of the local citizens at large.
