History
Thurbo Higher Secondary School was established in 1972 by the local citizen of Thurbo. Thurbo Junior High School was recognised as 2 Class Jr. High School w.e.f. 01.01.1986 and 4-class Jr. High School w.e.f. 01.01.1987 vide Board of Secondary Education Memo No. S/1050, dated 05.08.1987. School came under the Grant-in-Aid w.e.f. the date of recognisation.Thurbo Junior high school upgraded to Class X Thurbo High School w.e.f. 01.05.1997 (Class IX & Class X) and Class X w.e.f. 01.05.1998 vide West Bengal Board of School Education Memo S/Recog/97/31 dated 14.07.1997.The School has obtained further recognisation (upgraded) High School to Higher Secondary from the Council of Higher Secondary Education w.e.f. 2011 vide council of higher secondary West Bengal Memo G.O. No. 823-SE(HS)3S-06/11 dated 10.05.2012.The School received first Grant-in-Aid from D.I. of School (SE) Darjeeling vide Memo No. 701(11) G.A dated 07.10.1988.
