History
Since its establishment in 1984 Khattimari High School (XII) has been serving as the beacon of education in the remote area of Jharaltagram-II Gram Panchayet in Dhupguri block of Jalpaiguri district. It started its journey as a Junior High School through the great efforts of some noble and educationally inspired men and women of the locality. They set up the school to release the local people from the darkness of illiteracy and ignorance.
INNOVATOROS:
The noble persons whose innovative thoughts, supports and help resulted in establishing the school are Prabhat Chandra Roy, Chak Mohan Roy, Toloram Adhikary, Bimal Adhikary, Subhas Chandra Roy, Ramkishore Roy, Tarini Mohan Roy, Dinesh Chandra Roy, Gopinath Mishra, Nanda Mohan Roy, Brindaban Adhikary, Bhim Sen Roy and Bhisma Deb Roy.
LAND DONORS:
We also remember and salute the great sacrifice of those who donated land for the foundation of the school. Our respected land donors are Lakshmi Kanta Roy, Kashi Kanta Roy, Jalashi Sundari Roy, Surendra Nath Roy, Fulesh Chandra Roy and Bhadra Mohan Roy.
MEMBERS OF THE FIRST MANAGING COMMITTEE:
The first managing committee of the school included Prabhat Chandra Roy, Chak Mohan Roy, Toloram Adhikary, Subhas Chandra Roy, Ramkishore Roy, Tarini Mohan Roy, Dinesh Chandra Roy, Bhisma deb Roy, Arun Bikash Roy, Budal Bhagat, Chittaranjan Roy, Chandan Bhowmik as honourable members.
UPGRADATION:
To fulfill the growing need for education among the children the school was upgraded to a secondary school and higher secondary school respectively in 1992 and 2009.
PRESENT STATE:
At present, the school caters the light of education to over two thousand students with 37 dedicated teachers and non-teaching staff, Vocational trades (Health Care and IT ) under NSQF, ICT Labs, Geography Lab, Library, multi-gym, and available facilities of games and Sports. Many of our ex-students are established in different sections of the society. One bright example is Mr.Bishnupada Roy who is now a WBCS officer.
