Pre Independence days when education for tea gaeden labourers was beyond imagination. A visionary and freedom fighter fought for education to the common people of tea gardens and succeeded in establishing hindi medium school at Chengmari Tea Estate in the year 1950. He was non other than the first MLA from Nagrakata Assembly Constituency, Late Budhu Bhagat. His far sighted vission could open the door of education to the working section of the tea gardens. Students from far corners of the dooars region would come to take admission in this school and flourished their future. This school could produce many more successful persions. The school got recognition at Primary , Upper Primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary level in the year 1954, 1954,1959 and 1965 respectively. This school remained a sole educational institute for many years in the region for Hindi, Nepali and sadri speaking people.
