History

Baro Atia Bari A. P. School is situated to the north of Dinhata town of Cooch Behar District. It was established in 1838 by some of the so-called village muslim scholarly in a home as Moktab to teach Arabic to muslim children (according to local folklore). Gradually people changed this idea of religious education. To educate their children they began to accept modern education like Bengali, English, Maths etc. Before Independence Cooch Behar Maharaja appointed teachers and after that State Govt. accepted this school named Baro Aria Bari A. P. School.
