CHAMTA ADARSHA HIGH SCHOOL came into existence in 1971.But  actually,its journey began in 1968 at Barthar village of Chamta Gram Panchayat of Sitai block of Coochbehar district with only V & VI classes under the patronage of some persons interested in education specially Bhupendra Narayan Bhatta, Nikhiles Bhatta,Achhiruddin Pandit,Safiuddin Ahmed etc..Later it was shifted to Nagargiridhari before being finally located at its present place.The school got its First Recognition as a four- class Junior High School with effect from 01.01.1971.In 1984 it was upgraded as a High School with IX & X classes.After a long period of time ,it got its recognition as a Higher Secondary School  in 2006.In the beginning ,there were very few pupil in the school though there were no High School in the vicinity .Now the school boasts of having about 3000 students.It is due to the active participation and co-operation of the local people ,the school could grow with huge number of students,teachers and a great infrastructure. and has began celebrating its GOLDEN JUBILEE in 2020.
