History

Where today's Vivekananda Vidyapith Primary School is situated, nearly 55 years ago, there was a hut with thatched roof on a small field in the heart of Uttar Andaranfulbari (Dattapara) village, a light populated area under Andaranfulbari-II G.P of Tufanganj-I Block. Within 5 sq.km of the village there was no any school at that time. Villagers had a cordial demand for a school in the village from the beginning. Gradually the demand was becoming stronger. Many people of the village came forward to help in spreading education. They raised a fund with contribution. A mud hut with two rooms was made and shelves made of bamboo were used as benches. Thus our today's school had started its first journey with near about 30/40 students and three teachers. It was then the middle of 1965 AD. Being accompanied with two other Asst. teachers -- Sri Kshitish Saha and Smt. Nilima Kundu, Sri Narayan Chanda, the Head Teacher, was trying to make the school run without any salary or the aid by Govt. Meanwhile, Smt. Arati Datta, a madam joined the school self-willingly as a teaching staff. After two years the school was sanctioned as Govt. Undertaking/ Govt. Aided School in 1967, which is still now regarded as the establishment year of the school. The teachers who did their duties as the Head or TIC of the institution are as follows ---

1) Sri Narayan Chanda

2) Sri Kanteswar Barman

3) Smt. Mira Saha

4) Smt. Sova Karmakar Das

5) Sri Dipak Kanti Das.

Now the school is tin shadded pucca building with 124 students and 5 teachers having with different kinds of facilities like as electricity, running water, classrooms with furniture etc. On behalf of the school, I wish its further development more and more.

Thanks a lot to all.
