History

Balabhut High School is a State Government sponsored School situated at the river side of concurrent of five rivers (namely Torsha, Kaljani, Gadadhar, Raidak & Ghargharia )under Balabhut Gram Panchayat, PS. Tufanganj, Dist. Coochbehar.  The School was established in 1950. The honorable land donors are Gohir Uddin Bepary, Banu Mamud Bepary and Bihri Nath Roy Sarkar, without their kind cooperation and contribution the School couldn’t be established.  The area is almost surrounded by the borders of Bangladesh and Assam and the land is connected with the subdivision like a bottle neck. The School is the only Higher Secondary School under this underdeveloped Gram Panchayat.10 years ago it was difficalt to come to school because of the river  Raidac. Now there is a bridge .That makes the area little bit developped.
