History

Dewanganj High School is situated in the villege of PerMekliganj, a remote corner of Cooch Behar district. The school was set up in 1967 (V-X). Some local people, being interested in education took initiative to build up such institution for the enrichment of education among the students of locality. The founder members of the school were Achirtya Roy, Balabendra Narayan Roy Sarkar, Kishitendra Narayan Roy Sarkar and Abhay Kanti Roy. The teachers ,  Batakrishna Roy (H.M),  Sudhir Ch Roy, Chhaya Roy,  Upendra Nath Roy, Satyen Sarkar, Samsul Hq Sarkar, Digambar Roy, Fajlul Hq who took part initially as organizers gave their valuable contributions to run smoothly school from the very beginning.  Now the school is grown up in a large scale.
