History

The school was setup in 1942.It began its journey as M.E. school under the supervision of then Coochbehar state administration .Two decades later it converted into a complete basic Jr.High school.In the year1997,itupgraded and obtained the status of class X Secondary High School. In the year 2006 it  got permission to H.S. section with its arts faculty.Sceince  stream was introduced in the year 2009.Shikarpur High School (H.S.) also got the permission to open its vocational stream with TMSR and Computer. The school has co-educational facility running withall the stream  mentioned above  In arts section beside BNGA, ENGB, there are subjects ,GEGR,PHIL,SNSK,ENVE,PHYS,CHEM,MATH   in  H.S   section .In general section 20 permanent teachers along with 8  para  teachers and 2 Group-c, 1 Group-D and a librarian working now Total no  of  sanctioned teaching staff is 28W ell equipped library,laboratory,Computer room,Kyan projector rooms  are available in our school. There are  20 class room,a office, teachers’  retiring room an H.M’s chamber in our school.The school authority has set up  full shaped statue of Swami Vivekananda ,Rabindra Nath Tagore, Kazi Nazrul Islam and Thakur Panchanan Barma. There is n nice play ground in front of our school.
