History

The school started its journey on 10th March,1953 with only classes V and VI.Upto 1963, it was run privately without Govt. support, on the basis of tuition fees from the students. In 1963, the school got Govt.approval upto class VIII.In 1968, the school was upgraded to class X and in 1988, it earned the status of a higher secondary school respectively. from 1953-1957, all expenses of the school used to be run by the donor family of Pramanik Barman. From 1968 the school was recognized as a Govt. aided school, at present it is a Govt. sponsored school. The school has a student strength of 2700 +. This co- Ed school has come into its present form because of the active co-operation of the local people, guardians and the Govt. of West Bengal.
