Kshudirampally Sukanta Smriti Bidyapith got government approval in 1989 but the school was established in 1978. The school started its journey as a girls' school at the local Kalibari Primary School with the dedicated efforts of a few education enthusiasts of the city under the leadership of Hon'ble Shri Adhir Biswas, the then Chief of Islampur Gram Panchayat. At the birth of the school, there was a steering committee of 11 members, the secretary of which was Hon'ble Shri Adhir Biswas. At the first meeting of the management committee, the name of this school was decided as Sukanta Smriti Bidyapith (Junior Girls). But later in 1982 the management committee decided to make the school a co-educational school as the number of girl students was not satisfactory. Later, when the school was approved, it was renamed by WBBSE as Kshudirampally Sukanta Smriti Bidyapith.
