On January 2nd,1970, Sri Ashis Kumar Laha (ex-headmaster) in company with Late Charo Oraon, Late Kadna Oraon, Late Haribandhu Dutta and Late Shivnandan kairi established a school named Maniko Adibasi High School at village Maniko with the help of the people of this area. The school had no concrete roof at its initial stage, so it took place at some random places such as, firstly at Ajit Dutta's house at village Maniko, then at Sunil Lahiri's house, then at Maniko primary school, then at Aam bagan  of Gaurishankar Mani. And before Late Kadna Oraon,  Late Charo Oraon and Late Haribandhu Dutta donated a land for the school, it was going on at the Boithak khana of Late Kadna Oraon. At the beginning, the school got 2-class junior govt. Sponsorship in 1974. Then the school got 4-class junior govt.Sponsorship in the year 1981. Then it got govt.Sponsorship in 2000 as secondary ( lX-X) school. At last, with the help of the president of the school, all the members of the managing committee, Ex-secretary, Ex- members of  the school, Assistant Teachers, para teachers, non-Teaching staff, retired teaching and non- teaching staff, Ex-teaching staff and the well wishers, the school got upgraded to higher secondary (XI - XII) by the government in the year 2019-2020.
