History

Sujapur Girls’ High School (H.S.), established in 1980, is the first and the only girls' school in Sujapur area. Almost a quarter-century ago, the school started its journey with six teachers and one non-teaching staff. The teachers Anima Chatterjee, Jebun Nesha, Saifun Nesha Khatun, Sarifun Nesha, Shakila Parvin, Najera Khatun and non-teaching staff Husna Ara Khatun tirelessly encouraged and motivated the girls of the area for education.

The first managing committee was formed with Md Abdul Malek (President), Abdul Majed (Vice President), Abdul Barkat (Secretary), Sri Khitish Chandra Mandol (Assistant Secretary), Md Mujibar Rahaman (Cashier), Sri Nirupada Das (Member), Md Abdul Sattar (Member), Md Majibar Rahaman (Member), and Md Masud Ali (Member).

The school was upgraded to X class high school w.e.f. 01.05.1996. Since the beginning Jebun Nesha served as Teacher-in-Charge of the school till Jayasri Pal joined as Headmistress in 2005. Her dedication and devotion is well evident in the growth and development of the institution.

The school was recognised as XII class higher secondary school w.e.f.  2010-11. In 2013, Nafisa Banu was appointed as the first Assistant Headmistress of the school. Finally, from government-aided school it was converted into government-sponsored school w.e.f. 30.09.2013. Women empowerment has always been our top priority and we are constantly working in that direction. With many limitations, the institution is trying its best to cater quality education along with other necessary moral teachings to the girls so that they build a  beautiful society.
