One of the pioneer educational institutions of Malda District Enayetpur High School, situated in Manikchak Block, has started its journey in British era ( 1913) as M. E. School (Middle English School) with the patronage of local educationist and Md Golam Hossain, Md Mairuddin of Manikchak. Sri Amrit Rajak, Sri Utsab Rajak, and Munshi Soheb Ali donated land for the noble cause of establishing a school in Enayetpur to enlighten the children of this locality. Some makeshift huts were constructed at first but unfortunately those were gutted down by fire. In this scenario Md Sekhawat Hossain took initiative to build old school building to fulfill all requirements for the smooth sailing of this new school. In its initial stage the school had classes from I  to VI and honourable Md Ibrahim Saheb took charge as head of the institution. In course of time this lush green compound has seen MD Yunus Ali, MD Abdus Sattar , Dr Dipashree Majumdar , Sri Sunanda Majumdar, and Md Badiuz Zaman ( from 23/07/2019) as head of the institution. Like any other institution it also faced many hurbles and successfully overcome those. Many students of this school have marked their footprint in different sphere of career as well as in life and made this institution proud. In 1965 the institution has upgraded as Junior High School. In 2005 it was sanctioned as High School and in 2012 as Higher Secondary School. MD Sekhawat Hossain, MD Majibur Rahman, MD Lutfar Rahman, MD Motiullah Munshi, Sri Anil Kr Das and Md Abdur Rakib have successfully served their tenure as Secretary of Managing Committee and guided the school authority in all ups and downs. Now, Md Yunush Ali ( Ex-Headmaster) serving as President of School Management Committee. In centenary year ,2013, Centenary Celebration was celebrated with apt grandour. This centuries old institution has come a long way and is now looking forward to a glorious future.
