History

Sambalpur where the school is situated is not so known from the view point of historical background  and cultural heritage, as mostly the people living her belong to Shersha Badiya community.  Major Parcentage of the people of the region survive on agriculture, whereas very few ones are govt. Employees. The Sambalpur anchal high school has pioneered the concept of school-based educational system playing a vital role to make the inhabitants aware of the importance of education and uplift their status socially, economically since the last 5 decades.

           The school established in 1969 as Sambalpur Anchal Jr. High school is located in the rural area in northern part of the district Malda with its countryside beauty surrounded by majestic lawn and mango-groves. The school attached to sambalpur G.P. is beautifully coloured and gratified beside the village road  connected with kumarganj railway station.

              Established in 1969, the school is still carrying the flame with the same zeal and commitment that  started with to impart knowledge to the students coming across the region. From the initial stage the school has achieved great fame and reputation for its alround performances in myriad fields, be it academic, creative or contemplative and so on.

                  In 1969, one of the  most renowned social workers Hazi Niyajuddin Mandal in collaboration of Hazi Md Ismail Mia, Zonab Ali, Md Joynal Abedin, Hazi Mokshed Ali, Md Tayiab Ali Mandal, Abdul Karim, Md Isha and  some persons interested in education took this noble initiative to setup this school. The school initially ran its expenses ‘by public subscription’  and eventually it was recognized by the West Bengal Board of Secondary education vide-Memo no. 28/Jr. dt. 06/01/1972 with effect from  01/01/1971. Later the school was upgraded  to High school by the Board vide Memo no. S/347 dt. 16/04/1984 and finally the school was provisionally recognized for imparting Higher Secondary Education in general stream courses with co-education vide G.O no- 96-SE (H.S) dt. 14/07/2006. In course of time, the school came under Govt.Sponsored vide Memo no. 878/RMSA/SL/5S-264/12 dt. 30/09/2013.

                Having started with mud wall rooms with straw thatch, the school has come a long way in course of time as the number of its successful alumnus in the various fields across the country and worldwide is ever on rise. Ever since the school humbly celebrates the glory that the students have achieved representing the school in different sections. Among the illustrious alumnus of the school successfully working in various sectors are  Abdus Sattar, Md Nuzrul Islam, Akmal Hossain, Md Abdur Rahim , Abdul Hannan, Md Rafique ul Alam,  Humayun Chowdhury , Usman Gani, Emadur Rahaman, Emdadul Hoque, Md Nurujjaman, Nurjaman, Wasim Akram, Sanarul Hoque.
