History

Established in 1971, Sukrabari A.K. High Madrasah has undergone significant transformations and upgrades, starting as an 8th-grade institution in 1975 before becoming a High Madrasah in 1983. The year 2008 marked another milestone with its upgrade to a Higher Secondary (HS) school. Spread over a vast expanse of 58 decimal of land, the school was founded by a visionary who named it Madrasah. Today, it boasts a robust enrollment of 1,650 students, including a diverse mix of students from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC). Notably, the school has a higher number of female students, reflecting its commitment to promoting girls' education.

The school's excellence in various domains has been recognized through numerous awards. In 2015, it received the Best Sanitation Award, followed by the prestigious Nirmal Vidyalay Puraskar in 2016, which honors schools for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. The school continued its streak of accolades with the Subdivision Award and the Shishu Mitra Award in 2017, acknowledging its role in fostering child-friendly environments. In the realm of sports, the school celebrated a remarkable achievement in 2020 when one of its students won the state championship in shot put throw. More recently, in 2024, the school added another feather to its cap with a state championship win in long jump. The institution's ongoing commitment to cleanliness and hygiene was further validated with the Swachh Vidyalay Puraskar in 2022.

Sukrabari A.K. High Madrasah also prides itself on organizing the Abul Kasem Smriti Puraskar every year, a cultural program, exhibition, and awarding event that commemorates its founder's legacy and promotes cultural and academic excellence among students. The school actively encourages educational tours, providing students with opportunities to learn beyond the classroom and gain exposure to new experiences. Through these initiatives, the school not only emphasizes academic achievement but also nurtures a holistic development approach, ensuring that students are well-prepared for the future.
