History

Malda is a district lying to the middle of West Bengal. The region is remarkably distinguished for its location, called as “Gate way of North Bengal”and rich Gombhira Song. Nalagola High School, an educational institution that has always been revered as one of the prime centres of excellence for learning in Bamongola Block, is situated in the ultimate of the district.

Established in 1936, the school is still carrying the flame with the same zeal and commitment that it started with- to impart knowledge to the students coming from within and beyond the borders of Malda. The school has pioneered the concept of ‘school-based educational system’ in the district since the days of the British Raj and changed itself according to the changing times of the post independent country into a modern educational institution.

In 1960, the school recognised as 4 class junior high school. In 1964, the school recognised as 10 class High School and upgraded to Higher Secondary Institution (General Stream) in the academic year 1995-96.
