HISTORY

The school was established in 1947. Before that there was no school in the area , surroundig 25 villages.  At that time , an inhabitant of Bhawaninagar , Janab Abdus Sohan , a farmer by proffession , himself , with the help of some honourable persons of the surrounding villages came forward . He was a pious person and also one of the rich persons of the area. Although , he himself was an illiterate person , wanted to educate the next generation.

Some other persons who helped him in this noble work , are , Gurudas Gomosta , Kalipada Chakraborty , Saukat Mondol , Prafulla Chandra De and many more.

Janab Abdus Sohan , donated the land to establish the school. And school is named after his mother , Maleka Bibi.

The school started , with only the classes - V and VI and the enrollment was 110. Janab Abdus Sohan also arranged the salary for the teachers . He also donated other 6 bighas of land to support the school economically. In 1953 , the school was approved by the Government. In 1984 , the school was recognised as a Junior High School. From 2003 , the school received financial support from the Government. In 2016 , the school was recognised as a Secondary school. In 2018 , the first batch of MP students passed out and the percentage of passing students was 90%.
