HISTORY OF DEBPUR HIGH SCHOOL

Probably in 1941 or 1942 some education-interested young people like Golam Rahaman, Immad Ali, Jahander Ali, Israfuddin, Jalaluddin Mondal, Nihajuddin, Ommor Ali, Bibhutibhushan Mondal and Bibhutibhushan Singha Roy tried to establish the school. Janab Golam Rohaman was the first Secretary of the school. The honorable  persons like Dolejan Bibi, Fudun Bibi  and Immamuddin Gang had a great role as they donated the land for setting up the school. At first Lower Primary Stage had been by some respected teachers like Abul Kashem, Ahamad Ali Saheb and Fatikchand Bhattacharya. Firstly they had few students. Within some years the School has been led  as Junior Madrasah. Day by day the number of students increase.  At that time Amanat Ullaha joined in this school as a teacher of Madrasah.  After his sudden transference Golam Rahaman Saheb had been employed in his place. Sudden death of Golam Rahaman Saheb made the school parentless. At this crucial time a young local educated person Md Mocher Ali Saheb (26.7.52) had been employed as a teacher.   At that time there came a rapid change in managing committee. After a long change, Yusuf Saheb had been selected as the Secretary of the school. Taking the help of local education-interested people , Yusuf Saheb met so many educational authorities and officers to develop the basic infrastructure of the school. He tried his best to make the school into Junior High and he got success at last. The student strength of the school was increasing day by day. The next target of the Managing Committee was to make the school into High School. To get the permission of High School , Dilip Kumar Dey had been employed as the Head Master of the School. With a lot of struggle , the Managing Committee got the permission  of High School. The school had been newly entitled as Debpur High School.(10-class High School, w.e.f.01.01.1963, vide no. 3001/G dated 8.2.63). Thereafter the school had got the permission of H.S also. At present more than 2000 students study here and there is enough building and teachers also.
