Ghoshpara, a village, in the Jalangi block of Murshidabad, is situated along the north of Berhampore - Jalangi Road . There was no school in this area for about 50 years ago from today. The boys and girls had to go jalangi or Sagarpara for study . In view of all this, a meeting was held locally with the help of some prominent persons in this village. About a week after this meeting, a school was temporarily set up on 2nd January ,1969. The school was named "Ghoshpara Sarvapalli Vidyaniketan" after the prominent President and Educationist Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. After that, in 1971, this school was approved as Junior High School (V-VIII) by WBBSE vide Memo No - 637/jr. dated 17.09.1971 . In 1972, WB Board of Secondary Education approved Co-Education after the proposal of the then School Committee. Then in 1992 the school was upgraded to the official class IX-X by WBBSE . The Council (WBCHSE ) approved the introduction of the Class XI-XII in 2007. In 2015 this school was recognized as a Govt Sponsored school.
