History

New Integrated Govt. School (I-XII), Block:-Bhagwangola-I, Dist:- Murshidabad, 742135, started its journey on 22nd January, 2016. The school was set up under the Backward Regions Grant Fund (BRGF) Scheme of Govt. of India, designed to address "regional imbalances in development" in 272 earmarked districts of the country. One of the components of such "regional imbalances" is education. Thus, setting up of this Govt. School, along with many others of its kind in different parts of the state and across the country, is an attempt at improving the education scenario of the backward area where it is located. The list of backward districts included 11 districts in West Bengal including Murshidabad.

The school started functioning with a few Guest Teachers and one re-appointed Guest Clerk in 2016 and is presently running successfully with 20 (Twenty) Permanent Teachers including Teacher-in-Charge, two deputed teachers for the Primary Section, one re-appointed Group-C Guest Clerk and two re-appointed Group-D staff.

At present, the highest Grade is Class-10 and the first batch is set to appear at the Secondary Board Examination (Madhyamik) under WBBSE in 2021.

Being a Govt. School, all students avail free education. Alongside, they are provided with daily Mid-Day-Meal, school uniform, school bag, enlisted textbooks, exercise books etc. absolutely free as per Govt. regulations.

The school has already enrolled itself in different governmental schemes such as Aikyashree, Kanyashree, Sabuj Sathi etc. and the students are getting benefited from the schemes.

Within such a short span since its  inauguration, the school has been successful in setting up Language Lab)/ Computer Lab, Physics Lab, Chemistry Lab, Biology Lab and Geography Lab with necessary furniture, equipments and instruments with financial and logistical aid received from the Department of School Education, Govt. of West Bengal and the district administration.

The school is situated in an interior and underprivileged area and many students are from poor socio-economic background. Hence, students often find it difficult to avail additional books and study resources. Keeping this in mind as also with a view to develop extracurricular reading habits among learners, a Library Room has been set up with adequate furniture and substantial number of books of all levels and varieties and is already operational with a trained Library-in-Charge at the helm, chosen from among the permanent teachers. Every Grade has one Library Class in their weekly routine. The School Library is being regularly updated and furnished with newer books and resources, to the benefit of students and teachers alike.

The faculty members are committed to imparting effective quality education to all learners in close harmony with the local community to ensure holistic integrated development of the pupils and are tirelessly working in that direction.

Despite having to cope with various circumstantial and other constraints and adversities for being located in a relatively interior and underdeveloped area, the school is steadfast on its forward path of development and is committed to achieving excellence in education.
