
Bhagabangola High School is situated at Bhagabangola, PO & PS : Bhagwangola Dist : Murshidabad, West Bengal. It was founded in the year 1931. Manindranath Saha,the then landlord of the area donated the land for the establishment of the school in memory of his late father Kedsrnath Saha. Some local educationists such as Manindra Narayan Roy and Hazi Abbas Ali and other enthusiasts also contributed much to the establishment and development of this school at that time for the spread of education. Then the school was known as Kedarnath Saha Middle English School. Later on, Surendra Narayan Singh Roy Bahadur, the then zamindar of Jiaganj donated the school field for the development of sports and games. In between 1931 and 1948 both male and female students of the area could learn their lesson up to class VIII. However, the University of Calcutta recognised the school as X class High School (Matriculation) in 01/01/1949.This date was considered by the then school authorities to be the establishment day of Bhagabangola High School. It opened up a new horizon to the population of Bhagabangola for the acquisition of higher education. Shashanka Shekhar Sinha (MA,BT) was the first Headmaster of this school. Subsequently it was permitted to teach Humanities (Arts), Science & Commerce subjects by the W B Board of Secondary Education and W B Council Of H S Education. In the tenure of the Headmaster Shree Mangalmay Majumdar(1978 to 1996) the school achieved fame in the fields of academic, cultural as well as sports development. The present Headmaster Saderul Amin (MA Eng,B ED),also an Ex - Student of the school, has been holding the office since 2003. In his time old condemned buildings are broken and new buildings are constructed in those places. About 40 additional classrooms and laboratories have been constructed by his endeavour till now with the grant of the central as well as state government. Two other additional classrooms are being constructed now with the grant of SSA, Murshidabad.
