History

In the year 1925, on 5the September, the first meeting was conveyed to set up an educational institution specially Madrasah at Ramna Sheikdighi Mouza Vill- Hazipur PO- Ramna Sheikdighi, under Sagardighi Block of Murshidabad District of West Bengal in India. It was proposed that the educational institution should be set up named Sheikdighi Jr. Madrasah where the children of this educationally backward and poor people would learn Arabic, Urdu, Bengali, Mathematics and Hadis and Phequah. Construction of a building was crying need at first. So one acre of Khas land from Nawab Estate was settled up. The public who had interest in education promised to donate five acre of cultivated land so that the salary for the teachers and the non-teaching staff would be paid with the crops of the said donated five acre land.

As a result in the tear 1926 on 14th February a building made with mud and Talli-Chhauni was opened in Milad-A-Mahafil (Muslim Conference) and the founders were proud for the kind attendance of the then SDO Jangipur at the opening ceremony of the Madrasah on that day.

Govt. Recognition was availed in the year 1928 for class I to VI. It was upgraded upto Jr. High Madrasah for class I to VIII in the year 1931. Only four students stood with first division and two students were not successful.

The financial grant(first) was received in the year 1932. The institution ran in full-fledged motion upto 16-17 years. Due to some unavoidable circumstances, the Madrasah was fallen in many problems. In that bad situation, the then Managing Committee was trying to find out young educated enthusiast and dynamic personality  from the locality.

In the year 1951, on 1st July Mr. Faramuj Mondal, Sademan Mondal, Anes Ali Pandit, Kashem Sk etc. Members of the then Managing Committe appointed Mr. Golam Mustafa of this area from the village Sitalpara as the Headmaster of this Madrasah.

Sheikdighi Basic School for class I to V was established by the NH-34 in the year 1956. It was an approved Govt. Institution. Generally the roll-strength of this Madrasah was decreasing. Gradually the building of the Mdarasah(muddy-walled) was destroyed by a heavy storm in the year 1957.

The MC was convinced with the proposal of Mr. Golam Mustafa that the Madrasah should be converted into a Jr. High School(Class V to VIII) to bring the students of this locality in the general education stream where they would learn Bengali, English, Mathematics, Science, (Arabic/Sanskrit/Hindi), History, Geography and General Knowledge. In this Muslim dominated area, a courageous decision was taken by the leadership of Mr. Mustafa. MC applied for its recognition which was attained in the year 1959 for class V to VI. After two years, it was upgraded to class V to VIII. In the year 1963, by the leadership of Mr. Mustafa and the persons-interested-in-education specially MC. Naturally the roll-strength of this Jr. High School increased. Gradually, in this Jr. High School, the students from all the communities started to study here from a far distances.

But Mr. Mustafa as a responsible teaching staff of this school ran here and there for the all round development of the school.

First batch of School Final Examination was passed out in 1969.         In the meantime Vocational Course was approved in our school. Six months course and two years course(Engineering & Technology) was started. The passed out students became self employed in different Job Sectors.

Towards the end of 2008, ,Mr. Sahabuddin Shaikh(MSc, BEd) was appointed HM in place of Mr. Rahaman(retired). During the long gap of this post due to a Court Case (that was disposed of), Mr. Samiot Ali served as TIC successfully in a sound mind and sound body.
