COSSIMBAZAR MAHAJAN SAMITY HIGH SCHOOL was founded in the year 1966. Cossimbazar Mahajan Samity took the initiative to set up a school under the leadership of Sj. Biswanath Ghoshal and Sj. Hiralal Sashtri , Sj. Durgadas Roychowdhuri, Sj. Srideo Upadhyay and Sj. Dharmnath Tiweri rendered their valuable service to fulfill the dream of Mahajan Samity to spread the light of Education in the Backward areas. Actually they started their noble job since 1st. January, 1964 by opening the Primary Section. The Jr. High School got recognition of the Government for classes Five and Six since 1st.January , 1966.and for classes Seven and Eight from 1968 and so on. For a long spell of time the school ran as a jr. High School. Efforts were taken for Upgradation from time to time but were in vain. Finally success came in the year 1986 . The highest effort of Sj. Bimal Sankar Talukdar, Sj. Biswanath Ghoshal and Sj. Durgadas Roychowdhuri was rewarded with the Upgradation of the school to a Ten -Class High School. Now the school is running with its full form.
