Berhampore College was established in 1" November, 1853 AD in the building known as the Manindra Hostel in pursuance of Govt. education policy The school had no separate existence. It was part and parcel of the College Regular Classes were started from 21" November, 1853
In 1855, the School was shifted to Mr. Verdon Monasagon's two storyed house. • In 1857, the School was again shifted to Banjetia House of Maharani Swarnamoyee. • In 1859, Krishnath College Building was completed and the school was shifted in theeastern block of the college building from the center room up to the carriage stand verandah On 14 May, 1887, Maharani Swarnamoyee undertook the administrative and financial control of the college as well as the school.
