History

Century old DUMKAL BHABATARAN HIGH SCHOOL is  a dignified school of Murshidabad district. The school symbolizes the fulfillment of hope, aspirations and dream of Azimganj Gola, Domkal and its adjoining areas, which has been disseminating the light of knowledge in the eastern part of Murshidabad district for more than a century. DUMKAL BHABATARAN HIGH SCHOOL was one of the few educational institutions established in the district during the second half of the nineteenth century to pursue modern and higher education. The ME school, which was established at some point in 1880, was upgraded to DOMKAL HIGH ENGLISH SCHOOL in 1900 with the patronage of Medinipur Zamindar Company. After a long journey, the small institution of that day has been transformed into  a huge tree shadowing  about two and a half thousand students and more than half a hundred teachers in. However, the role of local people in the establishment, development and  management of this school cannot be denied.  As a part of the multi-faceted school plan in the state, the eleventh grade arts department (adding ninth, tenth and eleventh) was introduced in our school in 1971, soon after  science and commerce departments were introduced one by one. It became a class XI and XII school in 1974-1975 in all three departments, including secondary and higher secondary, the arts, science and commerce, the students continue to carry the glorious tradition of the school with their signatures of public achievement. At present, vocational courses are being conducted for the students who have passed the eighth and tenth standard.
