History

During late nineyies establishment of school in interior village of birbhum district was a ray of hope of everyone .The hope of the villagers came to exsistance in the year 1962 in the name of BENURIA MADHYAMIK BALIKA VIDYALAYA .It was the only school then covering the neraby villages and locality.Hence the local eminent persons along with the villagers put forward their immense valuable effort ,money ,land as well as good wishes .Dr Subhabrata sen ,Sisir Pal , Baidyanath Mondal ,Durga pada Mondal ,Marger Mondal ,had huge contribution behind this school.

   Baidyanath Mondal had donated the western part of pond for this school along with the govt grant of vested land for rest of portion of the school .wellwishers like Durgapada Mondal and Shivapada Mondal of Islampur ,Modan mohon Gorai and Sridhar Garai of Benuria , Neelkamal Ghosh ,Sisir Pal ,Arun Pal of Bahadur pur , Bhola nath Ghosh ,Samir Ghosh ,Bhairav Mondal of Ruppur and Marjar Mondal of Lohagor travelled through villages and different places to collected funds for the constructions of the school building .

   The school was first sanctioned with two class ( V& VI ) in the year 1962 . Two more classes were sanctioned ( class vii & viii) in the year 1964 and the school became  a junior high school. Previously Shivapada Mondal and Baidyanath Mondal used to teach the children .Then joined Mrs sukla sen and Mrs sukti sen  to teach the children.Arun pal joined as nonteaching staff in the year 1965.The teacher like mukti sengupta ,sukti sen .anjali banerjee, sandhya garai, jyotsna ghosh and nonteaching staff like Arun pal and group D Sankar Mete ran the junior high school till 2004 .In 2004 the new name benuria sumitra balika vidyalaya was sanctioned by WBBSE by the help of doner Nripati Mohon Bhattacharya recommended by managing committee of that time.

   In 2005 marked a new begining for this school. The school upgraded to secondary( school class x) under the new  headmistress Aditi Mukhopadhyay Mazumder . year 2017 was another milestone in the list of school.It was finally upgraded to higher secondary section with humanitics(arts) stream .It further turned   into govt sponsored school in the same glorious year.
