History

Bahiri Brajasundari High School is the heart of Bahiri Panchsowa Gram Panchayat under Bolpur Sriniketan Block in Birbhum District. The School was set up in 1943 with class five (V) and six (VI). The foundation stone of this School was laid by Dr Shyama Prasad Mukhopadhyay, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calcutta. Three sons of Brajasundari Devi (Sasthiram Roy, Adwaitanath Roy and Shibdas Roy) were founders and Bishnupada Roy Chowdhury was organizer of this School. The School was recognized as ten (X) class High School on 30.11.1945. The School was up-graded to XI on 01.01.1965 as Arts Stream. Two years later, on 01.01.1967 the School received the approval to run the Science Stream. The School was recognized as XII class H.S +2 School by WBCHSE on 21.04.1976. The School celebrated her glorious Platinum Jubilee during 09.07.2018 – 09.07.2019. Now the School is well known in the district through various educational activities.
