History

Jagnanagar Part Basic School is a primary school belonging to Bolpur Intensive Circle of Birbhum District Primary School Council. The school was established on January 7, 1946, on the land donated by some villagers. The school area has about 1.04 acres of land. Most of the students of the school are Muslims. 80 percent of the students are Muslims and the remaining 20 percent are from indigenous communities. Throughout the year, there is a relationship of mutual unity and harmony among the villagers belonging to different communities which has made the village environment beautiful. In this school, students are made aware of various subjects in addition to textbooks. Efforts continue to be made to educate the students properly through association with nature and social and moral education. The Mid Day Meal program in the school is carried out under the sincere supervision of all the teachers. Throughout the year, cultural practices like Rabindra Jayanti, Netaji Jayanti, Gandhi Janma Jayanti, Vidyasagar's Birthday, Teacher's Day, Independence Day, Republic Day, Tree Planting, Nirmal Vidyalaya Abhiyan etc. continue to be practiced in the school which makes the students more school oriented. With regular health awareness and physical exercise. There are hundreds of migratory birds come in this locality every year from Siberia. All the students play active role to protect the migratory birds. Students of the school continue to make their significant contribution in district level and even state level sports competitions every year.
