History

Established in 1946 Dharampur Primary School under Illambazar New Circle,DPSC ,Birbhum,started its journey with its limited capacity.  Since then the school has been involved in educating the children of Dharampur village and its surrounding areas. Being located in a very small and remote village of Birbhum district, earlier the school has a lot of difficulties to fight. Inspite of the difficulties the teachers of the school tried hard to bring the children of Dharampur as well as nearby Akona village and Majhi Para (inhabitated by Santhal families) to the school. The school got its new building about ten years ago. At present with the help of the different grants from Govt. of West Bengal the school can provide their students proper class rooms, library, drinking water, electricity, separate toilets for boys and girls and above all the atmosphere of joyful learning. The school has also its dinning hall for taking Mid Day meal. The teachers always encourages the students to participate in cultural programmes, sports and co curricular activities. Last but not the least the teachers of the school are very careful about the students' health and hygiene.
