
Kalikapurdanga Primary School was established in 1957. The school is located in Kalikapurdanga, a small tribal village under Labpur polic station in Birbhum district. In 1955, thanks to the efforts of Hon'ble Digen Basu and the cooperation of the villagers, the school was stared under a tree with only 12 students. Later the shed is made of bamboo stalks. The mud house was built in two years. Degen Basu first started teaching himself. In 1957, the school got government approval. Shri Divakar Mukherjee joined as the first head teacher and Shyamapada Chakraborty joined as the assistant teacher. The school has now become a significant school in the district. In 2012, the school received the Nirmal Vidyalya award. Partha Pradip Singha, the current head teacher of school, received the Shiksharatna award from the state government,s education department in 2016 and the National award to teacher 2016 by the government of India in 2017.
