
Every educational institution has its own history.Bhurkuna Kabiguru High School (H.S) is not exception to it.The school is seated at Bhurkuna Gram Panchayet under Birbhum district , Block - Suri-1. The school was established in 1962 on the 5th of May as an organised school. It was named after Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore to memorise his name.Firstly, the school was starred with only two classes (V & VI) in the year 1966 as a recognised school and classes VI,VIII & IX in 1984 and Secondary in 1985.The school was upgraded to H.S. in the year 1999. Sri Tarit Mohan Sarkar who was a noble and reputated personality of the locality,was the founder of the school. He was a PrimaryTeacher by profession. He was indeed a social worker. Another figure Sri Haridas Kandi was an organised Headmaster as well as co-founder of School. His contribution in developing the School was remarkable.The local people also funded to setup the school library.
