History

It is then 1962-63, the three interior villages Keshaipur, Bhabaipur and Madanpur situated in Amarpur anchal and Sainthia Block of Birbhum district. The condition of the village path was deplorable and these villages were cut off from the rest part of the area. Gargaria Nirupama High School was the only High School in this whole locality and it was nearly 5 k.m. far away from Keshaipur. After passing class V it was difficult to continue further study for the students of this area, specially for the girls.

In these circumstances some benevolent and educated villagers realized the need and importance of education for their children. They came forward and extend their helping hand to set up a High School. They donated land and collected money from door to door. Their toilsome effort and goodwill resulted in today’s Keshaipur High School, which was founded in 1964. At first it started in a mud- wall with tin shed. Then the School was adjoined to the Keshaipur Primary School. Initially start with class VI. Then the school got recognition as Senior Basic School (Class VI to VIII) in 1966. There after, the class V was attached to this school. After that the school got recognition as Junior High School in 1969 and it developed as Madhyamik High School in 1974. Gradually the number of students was increasing. Then the school attached hostel for SC/ST Boys started with the help of teaching and non-teaching staffs and member of the MC. It was a happy day for the people of the locality when the school developed as Higher Secondary School from 2011-12 acadamic session.

At present there are nearly 575 students , 21 sanctioned teaching staff and 3 non-teaching staffs. The school has 10 class rooms and 3 other rooms. The school has a well furnished room with 10 computers under ICT project science 2016. There are separate toilet unit for boys and girls students and 2 submersible pumps for pure drinking water. The school also has a kitchen shed and a dining shed for MDM. There is a large play ground attached to the school. In short the seed which was sown in 1964 has now turned into a large tree.
