History

Situated in the heart of Ahmadpur , is the most reputed educational institute for girls is Ahmadpur Joy Durga Girls High School. It was established in the year 1953 by Late Rajat Bhusan Dutta, one of the freedom fighters for the  Independence of our mother land. He also spent few years of imprisonment in Andaman Cellular Jail. After six years of Independence, the necessity for education of girls is keenly felt which is the basis for set up of this school. A big portion of land and property was donated by him . The school though, started its journey with few teachers( who served voluntarily) and few students, now became a full fledged institution catering to fulfill the dream of every girl student in future.
